This Privacy Policy explains how Zillion Research Labs, Inc. (doing business as Constant Employee; "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Constant Employee service ("Service") or visit constantemployee.com (the "Site").

1. Who we are

Constant Employee is an AI phone receptionist service operated by Zillion Research Labs, Inc. We act as the technology provider for residential trade contractors who use our Service to answer calls and book appointments on their behalf.

2. Information we collect

We collect two categories of information:

From contractors (businesses that subscribe to the Service):

• Business name, trade category, service area
• Owner name, email address, phone number
• Account credentials managed by Clerk (our authentication provider)
• Billing information processed by Stripe (we do not store credit card numbers)

From callers (the contractor's customers who call the AI receptionist):

• Caller phone number (provided by the telephone network)
• Name, service address, issue description (as spoken to the AI)
• Email address and SMS opt-in preference, if the caller chooses to receive a confirmation
• Call audio recording and transcript (used to populate the contractor's dashboard and improve service quality)

3. How we use information

• To provide the Service: answer calls, schedule appointments, send booking confirmations
• To notify the contractor of new bookings and urgent calls via email or SMS
• To process payments (contractor billing only)
• To maintain service quality and diagnose technical issues
• To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

4. SMS messaging and opt-in

If you, as a caller, choose to receive an SMS confirmation, you provide explicit verbal consent during the phone call when the AI receptionist asks "Would you like a confirmation by email, text, or both?"

We do not share phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. This information is used solely to deliver the messages you requested.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance. Standard message and data rates may apply. See our SMS Terms for details.

5. How we share information

We share information only with the following service providers, who process data on our behalf under written contracts that limit use to the purposes we authorize:

• Telnyx — carrier and SMS provider (telephone numbers, call routing, SMS delivery)
• Retell AI — voice AI infrastructure (call audio, transcripts)
• Anthropic — large language model used by the AI receptionist
• ElevenLabs — text-to-speech voice synthesis
• Clerk — contractor account authentication
• Stripe — contractor billing
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Hetzner — server hosting (United States and Europe)

We also share appointment, customer, and call information with the contractor whose business the caller dialed — they are the recipient of the receptionist's work.

We do not sell personal information.

6. Data retention

Call recordings, transcripts, and customer records are retained for as long as the contractor maintains an active account, plus 90 days after cancellation to allow for export. Billing records are retained for 7 years to comply with tax law. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS for data in transit, encrypted database storage, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@constantemployee.com.

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated to active contractors by email.
